John Lowery was born in Douglasville, Georgia on January 14, 1950. He graduated with a B. A. degree, summa cum laude, from Mercer University in 1972 and received his law degree from Harvard University in 1975.
From 1975 to 1977, Mr. Lowery was a law clerk to The Honorable James C. Hill, United States District Court Judge and later Judge for the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits. He joined the predecessor firm to Kutak Rock & Campbell in 1977 and became a partner in 1981.
Mr. Lowery has a broad range of litigation experience in a number of areas, including personal injury, products liability, professional liability, insurance, and trademark and unfair business practices disputes.
He is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Eleventh, Sixth, Fifth, Fourth, Third and Federal Circuits, the United States Claims Court, and the United States Supreme Court as well as all Georgia trial and appellate courts.
